Tourouvre, France

In April this year I visited France, including Tourouvre and Randonnai, as I have both Tremblay and Guyon ancestors. In Tourouvre I was fortunate to be able to go inside the church which was being renovated. It is a very old and not beautiful church, but inside I was amazed to find stained glass windows depicting the emigration of Tourouvrains to New France(Canada) and a large plaque giving names and dates of emigrants to Canada baptized in Tourouvre, including Jean Guyon! There is also a museum nearby all about the immigration to Canada, but it was closed.
Tourouvre and Randonnai are both in what was the ancient province of Perche, now located in S. Normandy, near I'Ile-de-France, and Maine. We stayed in Chartres and drove to this area about 2-2 1/2 hours away, a beautiful drive.
