Looking for info on Lewis/Louis Guyette who mar. Louisa Pare', probably in the 1840's. According to census records, both of them were born in Canada. Does anyone know about the earlier ancestry or where they came from in Canada? Their daughter, Adeline, mar. Alexandre Briere in 1866 and is my ggrandmother. (Children's birth records say she was born in Schroon Lake, NY.) Another daughter, Louisa, mar. Charles Webber in 1859. Have found Louis and Louisa in Saranac, NY in 1850, Rouses Point, NY in the 1860's and 1870's, and in the Port Henry/Crown Point, NY area about 1880. They both died in Port Henry around 1900. Death certificates said Louis Guyette's father was also named Louis while Louisa Pare's father was Antoine. Mothers were unknown. About three years ago there was an inquiry regarding Lewis but have been unable to make contact with person.
