"Time and place more important than a name" ??? I'm glad we weren't researching together for all my years - I would not have found HALF of my ancestors then because "naming patterns" have been A-B-S-O-L-U-T-E-L-Y critical in most of my successes in finding parents of my earlier ancestors. As for "time and place" - and my Robert Guthrie - - easier said, obviously, then done my friend ! Robert was living in the "black hole" called Western Pennsylvania during (time) 1773-1789 time period - - when the border wars between Pennsylvania and Virginia called....the "area of land" where he was living....either "Washington County" Penn - or Ohio County, (W) Virginia ! Oh...and that's not all senor ! Ohio County was formed from the "District of West Augusta, Virginia" which lasted all of a few years and they DISOLVED IT - - forming three new counties: Ohio, Monogahalia and (forgot the other one - senior moment !). And Maryland had her little fingers in that...."area of land"....that everybody was fighting over ! TRY....my friend....to do work on three states and 6 counties for ONE MAN..."Robert Guthrie"....and see what THAT does to YOUR SANITY, bub ! If you have done this, then I will listen whole-heartedly to every word you say, and advice you give me. If not - then I respectfully bid you farewell... I've done the work...it just amazes me over the years how many "sheep" follow whatever the wind says is "truth"...without questioning or testing it. There are absolutely little to NO documentations or proofs to any of this "James Bussell" nonsense. Notify Administrator about this message?
