Thank you James for this info.

But unfortunately, I have never believed for even a minute that Robert's father was "James Guthrie", and his mother, a "Miss Bussell."

I have worked on this family for over 20-years, and nothing -absolutely nothing, has ever surfaced that James Guthrie was his father. I own the "American Guthrie and Allied Families" book, by Lawrence Guthrie. I have read, reread, and reread again and again, the "information" that was provided showing James to be Robert's supposed father.

It simply has never jived !

The dates are all wrong for James to even be his father to begin with....as well as a dozen other items, that are so far-fetched, that they don't even make sense.

Again - - all probable evidence points to Robert Guthrie's father being a WILLIAM GUTHRIE.

But I thank-you nevertheless for this info. Unfortunately, when misinformation is passed on to individuals over the decades, it sort of breeds its own life and takes on its own "truths." People sometimes want to believe things, without actually doing any research work on it themselves.

I went to Salt Lake for over 12-years, staying as little as a week and as long as a two-weeks, and researched this family AD NAUSIUM ! And I still walked away firmly believing that this "James Guthrie information is like taking early Mormon Family Group sheets, or DAR information, literally....when sometimes the information is not worth the paper it's printed on, respectfully.
