I have a Josephus Guthrie living in Greene Cty TN - I wonder if the Josephus you are looking for could be the brother to William Guthrie who waws in the 1860 Census in Greene Cty TN.
My Guthries descend from William Thomas Guthrie b about 1812 in SC and died 1883 in Guthrie Family Cem, Greene Co TN. He married Clementine Thomas b. 1815 in Spartanburg, SC.
Their children: Martha 17, Nancy, 15, Anni, 11, John 9, Martin, 7, Missouri, 5, William 3, Josephus 2, and Lucinda just born.
I think this might be the Josephus you are looking for or related to this family!
