As a side note to the above comments, Peter Guthrie is named as a grandson in the Peter Harris will. There are several lineages listed over at Rootsweb with a Peter Guthrie listed as a son of William Guthrie/Eleanor Abbott.
Either William Guthrie married Eleanor Harris Abbott, a
widow, or the Abbott name has been erroneously used for this marriage. Since the will names William Guthrie, his wife, Eleanor (named daughter of Peter Harris), and their son, Peter, it would seem proof positive that William Guthrie was married to Eleanor Harris and that the name Harris is the one to be pursued by the descendants of this union, not Abbott.
