James Guthrie is listed as a member of Company A - Buncombe County Volunteers which participated in the Cherokee Indian Removal under General Winfield Scott starting April 7, 1838.
He ws born in 1817 in Buncombe Co., NC. He died 21 Dec 1870.
I know of no further info.
His brother, Goodson is my g-g grandfather. Am interested in sharing info if I can help with this line.
