This sort of question should also have been asked on the Sweden forum. Type Sweden into the "Jump to Forum" space at the top right of the page.

Emibas CD:

Emibas was made from registrations in the Swedish parish to go to a foreign country. It is about 75% complete.

If your "John Peter Gustafson" emigrated, maybe he is this person. He was born in Kalmar county but the important locations are the parish of birth (Madesjö) and the parish where he lived before emigrating (Kastlösa). Records were kept in the parish.

I looked up his birth record on the Genline site. Genline is a subscription site which has scanned the original parish records and put them online, for a price.

http://www.genline.com (fee-based)

This is the source.

100008.13.44300, [Kalmar] _scb Kalmar, :146, Births, 1864 - 1864, 0/0, Image 351 of 571

The first part of that source (100008.13.44300) is the GID number (Genline Identification Number) and if you join Genline and have a record you can't totally read, use that GID number and others with a subscription to Genline can go directly to that page to look at the same record.

Johan Peter was the illegitimate son of the "female person" Lovisa Samuelsdotter who lived in Snar in Madesjö parish. The mother was 31 years old. (Or, her full name was Lovisa Samuelsdotter Snar, but if so, her residence in the parish wasn't listed. The record doesn't actually say "i = in" Snar.)

I can't spend the time to figure this out by finding them in the hundreds of pages of the household examination parish record, but maybe someone on the Sweden forum has that time and will help you out.

Do you know when Anna Mathilda Sjöholm was born?

Here is one possibility from Emibas.

Here is another. This one went to Denmark (Danmark) but could have eventually emigrated to the U.S.

I looked on Emihamn and found a bunch, but this one is interesting since her destination was the same as the man listed above.
