I am not related. Although finding related people is great, there are other ways to learn important details about our ancestors.
Usually we can find more details (immigration year, full birthdate, etc.) in censuses, death certificates, marriage applications, Social Security applications, obituaries, church records, and so forth. This site provides ideas on places to search for clues.

For those who were born in Sweden, it is important to also post on the Sweden forum. Type Sweden into the "Jump to Forum" space at the top right of this page. (If you post there and want NEW information and not just a repeat of the lookups I will do for you in this message, make sure you post a link to this post. You probably will need a lot more clues, however, than you provided here for the others. Selma's clues were sufficient, most likely. Hopefully you know enough about Selma to confirm if the information about this Selma's family means she is yours or that it means she can't be yours.
You had a full birthdate on Selma, so I checked the Emibas CD. Emibas was made from registrations in the Swedish parish to go to a foreign country. It is about 75% complete.
This Selma traveled with her family. Her father's last name was Karlsson so the entire family probably used Carlson as a last name in the U.S. Her last name in this record is patronymic, based on the given name of the father.
