Hi John, I too am looking into Gustaf Jansson in Hofva, which I believe is now spelled Hova. My husbands gr.grandfather was August Gustafsson. Father- Gustaf Jansson(b.Oct22/1836) from Backen farm in Hofva, his mother was Karolina Magnusdotter(b.May20/1838). They married in Hova in 1860. We are thinking Gustaf Jansson (or Karolina could have been marrried before??)may have been married before as family lore says that August went to visit either a 1/2 sister or brother in Michigan upon arriving in the US in 1880. Upon checking with Family History Center films we found the marriage of Gustaf Jansson and Karolina. Gustafs parents were Jan Erik Svensson and Eva? Larsdotter from Backen farm, Karolinas parents were Magnus Carlsson and Katvina? Eriksdotter. August had 1 sister that we know of Kristina Gustafsdotter(b.1863)and 2 brothers, Karl Johan(b.1869)and Frans(b.1871)Gustafsson. Does any of this sound familiar? Candy in Canada
