Hi Kathy - My grandfather was Jesse Cooper Gupton. According to my Mom, Nerve (or Neverson) was his uncle. See entry #54 by Betty S. Cravens. Mom told me "North Carolina Branch #1" is our line. It goes from Stephen Gupton and Nancy Ann Portis to Robert Jesse Gupton, to John Eden Gupton. I will get more info for you and send it along.
