Baalam b. abt 1800 & Matilda b. abt 1807. Does anyone have the 1860 & 1870 census for Balaam & Matilda GUNTER? I can find the 1850 for Balaam & Matilda and the 1880 for Matilda GUNTER who is widowed and has 17 year old gson Elmore GUNTER with her. I can see them missing one census but not two. It is posted that Balaam died in 1879 so that explains why he is not with Matilda in 1880. They should be in South Carolina. I have checked other states ad have not found them. Anyone have a book of the 1860/70 census for SC or tax lists for the years 1851 thru 1879?
Does anyone know the Maiden name for Matilda b. abt. 1807?
Sometimes you can find people in the Census book that got missed in the scans. I would appreciate any help. Thank you Peggy Gunter
