Brian: I am not married, nor a Gum, though my ex boyfriend was. I have been working on a book, "From Tennessee to Oz - The Amazing Saga" of Judy Garland's Family History." My research took me back to Norton Gum of Knoxville, TN 1793 but I have not been able to trace back further.

These Gums were in TN for five generations. Some went to Missouri and their descendants told me there are a lot in WV and they often have a family gathering... big ...every year. I have been curious because there were mixed stories saying that Gum was from Germany! I would like to see some of these Gums do a DNA test and see how they connect. The story is that three brothers came to America... Good luck. It is fascinating to try to trace back.
