Jeremy, your maternal (mother's) line would be through the Carter name if that is your mother's maiden name, then thru her mother's maiden name (your grandmother's maiden name) and so on. You paternal line, your father's line, would be Gullion and remains as Gullion back into your ancestry. You can research both your maternal line or your paternal line, or both.
