Gullett Family Genealogy Forum

I'm afraid there is apparently some misinformation in this book from what I've read here. However I've never read the above mentioned book myself. However, Newt C. Gullett was my great grandfather's brother and I've done extensive research where this branch of the Gulletts are concerned. I've not personal record on the first marriage other than there was one, however, Mattie (Martha A Desekar was New'ts second wife whom he never divorced. His third "wife" was Charlotte D. Osborne-Bernard. And they were never formaly married. My grandmother use to tell me all the stories of their lives. Also I've done much research in the Victoria County Clerks office and have read the probate for Newt. I states there that he died without having any children of his own. That the four children were indeed Charlotte D Osborne-Bernard's children by her first marriage. Newt left an insurance policy to them but it was determined that they weren't his bio children and therefore were never given the insurance money. I've also, not been able to find a marriage record for Newt and Mattie, just reference to it in the probate. Hopefully, we can finally get a clear picture of this vast family with everyone putting together all our documented histories. Uncle Newt according to grandma was a river boat gambler as well as a land developer.
