I am afraid my only response can be that his name was probably Olav, a common Norwegian man's name; alternately Olai. I have never heard of Olan, which is likely to be a misprint.
Likewise Christiana should be Christiania, the name of the capital Oslo until 1924.
The Norwegian census of 1835 may be a source for you; unfortunately it is still not available online. For other Norwegian censuses see http://www.hist.uib.no/arkivverket/index-en.htm, which is an index page in English.
Best of luck!
