I think we might have a connection. The names and place match. My ancestor that came to southern Illinois in 1858 from Rockland Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania was named Daniel Ginther/Guinther. I do not know who is father was, but your Jacob could be a good possibility. Daniel named his first son, Jacob. My Daniel was born in 1810 and died in 1878. Let me know if you think we have a match. I had thought his parents might be John/Johannes Guinter and Maria Hoffman, but I have no proof of that. Looking forward to hearing from you.
