Eli A. & Emma Jane O'Guinn, TN/AK, 1800s
As far as I know Emma was an O'Guinn before her marriage (different branch of the family), so I'm actually looking for TWO O'Guinns!
Eli (b. 25 Jun 1853 Decatur TN, d. 9 Feb 1899 Jonesboro AK) was apparently a deacon who owned 160 acres of cotton farm; as the family tells it, both the local school AND the church were on his land.He died of an infectious outbreak that claimed a couple of his children too; Emma (b. 1863, d. 1912) eventually moved to California (as did some of her grown children years later) and died in Bellflower.
Eli & Emma are my direct great-great-great grandparents. If anyone has any info, I'd be delighted -- I can trade you what happened to some of their descendants out here in California.

(Four generations later and still an O'Guinn, darnit! :)
