I have had this court information for years. My father ordered the entire Smith trial court transcipt back in the early 80s. Abraham is my great great Grandfather. John Guinn is my great Grandfather. I believe there is a missing link somewhere. Being Cherokee in the early 1800's was bad news. I am starting to believe the Guinn's may have hidden their Cherokee ancestry to protect their familes and property. There is a lot of misinformation on the internet with the Guinn family when it comes to the Cherokees. Still, one consistant rumor is that Almon Guinn born 1793 was Cherokee based on statements from Almon's children and their descedants. Another fact is the Guinn family followed the migration of the Cherokee from Va,Tn,Ar,Mo and OK. I have about 3000 or so pages of Guinn genealogy from my late father's research. He researched the Guinns in Va,Tn,Ar,Tx and Mo. for 30 years. I may also have access to other information on the Indian connections. I will start looking through the files. I will eventually try to research questions/queries and provide infomation in the future. I will post a message when I am ready to help with research. Please be patient this is a lot of work and I am not retired yet!
