Whoops,
It was William Frazier, son of Charles and Mary Jane Guinn Frazier who made the primary application, not his brother,James,as I stated. The applications are on file at the National Archives branch in Fort Worth, Texas.
The applications stated that both Henry Guinn and his wife, Mary Ann Fitzgerald Guinn were 1/4 Cherokee "by blood". I do not understand why they did not mention Elizabeth Husbands Guinn (dau of Elijah Husbands and Jane James. She married Charles Guinn, son of Henry and Mary Ann.) Elizabeth is understood by our family to be 1/2 Cherokee through her mother Jane.
