Thanks for the information about Alfred, however, you are missing my point. For Alfred to be born in 1827 nakes it even worse, because if Asa was born in 1735, he would have been 92 when Alfred was born. Very unlikely to father a son at that age. I really believe everyone who is doing genealogy are skipping a generation or perhaps two. No one checks dates to see if it makes sense. I am thinking Alfred might be either a son of Cader Guin, Hardy Guin or there is another Asa Guin listed in 1800 who was born ca. 1770. He is not the same one who everyone has down as being born in 1735. Asa born in 1735 is probably the father of those three above. And the Cader Guin listed in the 1800 census in Anson County, NC is not the same one who is listed in SC that same census year.
