On this list, you will see mention of Margaret Guild Lambert, who has published a great book on the family, including disproving the Scotland connection to this line. Descendants of John Guild of Dedham, Proprietor in 1640, pronounce the name to rhyme with "wild". Later immigrants from Scotland pronounce it to rhyme with "filled"
