Guild Name Pronunciation

Hi, I'm new to the board. I'm not sure about my Guild family roots except what has been passed down by word of mouth - 7 Guild brothers came from Scotland. I'm not sure when or if it is even true. Anyway, that is not my question, my question has to do with the pronunciation of my last name. It looks like Guild (as in 'an association of people with similar interests') but it is pronounced like 'guy - ild' , it rythems with 'wild'. How common it this pronunciation of the name? Does any one else on this board pronounce their name that way? Maybe my family and I are the only ones with that pronunciation. I have often wondered why it is pronunced this way.
