Hi Diane, I'm continuing a search for my Grandfather's family from Dundee to Canada. Just found a record of his voyage from Glasgow to Halifax in 1907. Eventually he ends up in Kamloops, BC where he married my grandmother, Lydia Lindberg in December 1915. If this helps, great. If you find any information sounding close to this, it would be greatly appreciated. Below is my previous post: Looking for information about Herbert (Bert) Allan Ward Guild, born 1888 in Dundee, Scotland. Last of ten children, mother died in childbirth, father soon after. Not sure if he stayed in Dundee. May have gone to Glasgow. Finally went to Canada (Saskatoon?) with older brother. Married Lydia Lindberg of Sweden, not sure of date. Four children: 3 daughters born in Kamloops, BC and my father, Douglas, born in Merritt, B.C. in 1920. Dad came to the U.S. (Seattle) right after WWII. I have two oil paintings (circa 1888). one of my great-grandmother and a second of my great-grandfather holding what we've been told is a Stradivarius Violin which was in the family until Bert's death in 1948 in Vancouver, B.C. Anyone seen or heard this story before? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Bob Guild Notify Administrator about this message?
