My gg grandmother was an Elizabeth Guice, Geise, Geiss, Giess from Germany. Why all the different spellings? No one new for sure how to spell her last name. Imm. records show one spelling, family bible another and marriage lic. yet another! She married John Wagner in Southern Ohio around 1872. Good luck in your search.

Jim Hawes
