Hi Patick,

As the Guffin family historian, I have the basic
information on John E. Guffin which I will be happy to
share with you. He was born as a twin (with a female)
on September 22, 1918 in Giddings, TX. He was the son
of a dentist, Paty Lillard Guffin and his wife, Frances
Louise Cherry. Paty L. Guffin was born in Murfreesboro,
TN in 1882 and moved with his father to Lee Co., TX
around 1914.
John was John Edward Guffin and his twin was Virginia
Guffin who married Floyd Cundiff in 1935. I have no
record that John ever married.
John had an older brother, Frank Cherry Guffin, who
was a 1st Lieutenant and a Navigator in the U. S. Air
Force in WWII. Frank had a long career as a high school
teacher and coach in Austin, TX. Frank had three daughters,
therefore, there are no Guffins in Texas today who are
directly connected to this family.
Best regards,
R. L. Guffin
Tuscaloosa, AL
