I probably have the largest database of Guffins and do
not find your Fred. I do know that there was one group
of Guffins in Ontario, Canada and a few of those migrated
down into Michigan. I have specialized in the Guffins who
came to the U.S. in 1773 from County Down, N. Ireland and
who mainly settled in New York, Indiana, and South Carolina
in the early 1800's. Of course, there is a chance that
an Indiana Guffin could have gone up to Middleville but I
have no such record. What dates do you have on your Fred
Guffin - birth, marriage, and death? Perhaps a death
certificate would identify his parents. I would like to
hear from you.
