Hi Antoinnete,

I can't belieive I missed this posting!

Jacob Guffey was my GGG-Grandfather. And his parents were Bradcut Guffey & Elizabeth Hicks of Wayne County, Kentucky. I have all his siblings if you are interested.

Ivy Deen Guffey married Alex Guffey, (son of Jacob), they were 3rd cousins. After Alex died she married Johnny Maize, & he was the son of Captain Maize of the 42nd Missouri. My parents new Ivy & Johnny very well. Ivy was my Mom's Grandmother. It sounds confusing but I was adotpted by my Great Aunt. Ivy & John moved from Missouri to Dinuba, CA where Ivy's son's & brothers were.

John R. Maize had a first wife named Mary I Guffey & she died of consumption. Mary I Guffey was the daughter of C Bird Guffey 7 Mahala Jane Trent. I'm not sure if they had any children, don't think they did? Bur I'll check it out. John might have a brother named William, need to investigate further. I have an email from a Maize decendant, would you like me to look it up?

PS: I have pictures of Ivy & Johnny Maize if you are interested. I think I have a group photo of Johnny with his first wife & also Grandma Maize.
