Guertin/Charbonneau in St. Pie area?
Hi Everyone,
I am looking for my g-g-grandmother Philomena/Philomene Charbonneau in Canada. I found her in the 1870 U.S. Census in Troy, NY (Rensselaer County) under her married name as Guertin in French-Canada surname, but in the USA, they changed their surname to Yetto instead of Guertin. In the 1870 U.S.
Census, her age was 20 years old. She married Pierre (Peter)Guertin-Yetto. They might have divorced as Philomene/Philomena might have married Adolphe Guertin, the older brother of Pierre Guertin-Yetto.
Pierre and Adolphe Guertin were born in either St. Pie, St-Hyacinthe or St. Antoine-sur-Richelieu area in Quebec. My g-grandmother Rosanna Guertin-Yetto was born in Troy, NY and her parents were Pierre Guertin and Philomena/Philomene Charbonneau. I think my g-grandmother's (Rosanna Guertin-Yetto)half-brother or brother Simeon (Samuel)Guertin-Yetto was born in Canada in Jan. 1878 and his parents were Adolphe Guertin and Philomena/Philomene Charbonneau.
I am not sure about Adolphe and Pierre being the same person name who married to the same woman as Philomena/Philomene Charbonneau. Philomena/Philomene Charbonneau was not found in either the U.S. Censuses nor NYS Censuses after 1870 with her children and husband. Perhaps Pierre's family migrated between Troy and St. Pie?
Can you help me to find her marriage records and her son Simeon (Samuel) Guertin-Yetto's baptism/birth record? Where can I be able to find the source of information that I can get?
I would greatly appreciate your help in any way you can for me. Thank you for your time and effort.
Sincerely yours,
William F. Mooney
