Hello everybody, I just found this site and am so excited. My name is Alex Gue, and I'm from Chesapeake, OH (Union Township). I would love to learn more about my heritage. A constant question throughout our family is, "what is the origin of 'Gue'?" Many suggest it is German, while others insist it is French. Can anyone clue me in on what the correct answer is? I'm not very knowledgeable regarding our family tree, but it certainly interests me. I do know that everyone that I have ever heard of in the Gue family has lived in West Virginia (Salt Rock, Huntington, Barboursville). Any thoughts out there?
