Villasenor's from Guatemala
I am looking for information on Villasenor's that left Guatemala to escape a civil uprising (revolution of 1871?), ending up in Texas. My Great grandfather was George A. Villasenor from Texas. His birthdate is unknown, probably between 1880-1890.We don't know who his father is.It is possible he was an orphaned child of a European family (from Belgium, on vacation? or immigrated?) that were killed in the uprising, and adopted by the fleeing Villasenor's.The Belgium family name was supposedly Villexnaird (however, that name and a number of variations turn up empty searches, not to mention the high degree of coincidence between the two names).Or maybe not ... it is possible that George's father was trying to cover his Hispanic origins in order to survive in the white man's world, sad but maybe true.I need to know.
