Meza is the spaniard form of Messah, (hebrew)I traced this name all the way to holland, it seems that a familiy of hebrew-dutch doctors emigrated to spain when this was the only country in wich hebrew people where having any success, from there a part of the familiy emigrated to Latin America, in basicaly two branches one headed to Mexico (and from there to central America) and an other headed to south America where the family grew prety much in Chile and Brasil, since the name is in origin Hebrew, if you are interested in researching the general background go to a large sinagoge, if you want specifics go to Guatemala.
Sorry for any any errors in my spelling.
