Daryn,do you have any idea of when the family came over and who they were, your grandparents, etc?If so, try a search on: ellisislandrecords.org
There are 2,222 Guarino names listed, about 36 with the name Antonio; 16 with the name Maria Carozza (if you can narrow it down on when they came, or ship, or where they are from, it will help, or you can look at each entry) I found a Maria Carozza who came over in June 22,1906 on the ship "Sofia Hohenberg" from Palermo, with 3 sisters. Maria was 8, Carmello 11, Grazia 5, and Maria 3 and a brother Giuseppe 2, with I think a person named Maria Pepitore 30, this could have been their mother (they kept their surnames) or another female relative in the family. This is just the info on this person. It may not even be a relative.
I have found a lot of Guarino in the Agrigento province of Sicily, this is where my Guarino part of the family comes from.I can't help you any further than this at the moment, I have just gotten this information not long ago and have not been able to research it yet.

These are some good sites for researching the surname and where they are from. I found it useful in finding my family. When I was in the cimetario in Caltabellotta, I found some Guarino burial vaults. I took a picture of one, I will look at the names on the picture and let you know. I can't remember them without looking.
Keep in touch, Shirley
