Just came across your post of 13 January 2004 regarding the Guarinos. My mother was a Guarino before her marriage. She was one of the daughters of Rosalino Guarino, born 30 October 1854 in Contessa Entellina, Sicily. His wife was Caroline Volle, born 21 May 1862 in New Orleans, La. They were married 13 March 1880 at St. Anthony Chapel by Rev. J.A. Manoritta. Rosalino was the son of Leonardo Guarino and Francesca Diliberto, natives of Contessa Entellina. They emigrated from Palermo to the U.S. aboard the Ship "Francesca" to New Orleans on 13 March 1868. Leonardo's father was Rosalino Guarino, born ab. 1791, his mother was Rosalia Boscarino, both born in Contessa Entellina. I am a native of New Orleans, but live on the North Shore since Katrina. I have more details.
