Hi,
I have been trying to find any information on the Greenwald/Grunewald/Grunwald name. My mom was a Greenwald. Her fathers name was John Greenwald m. to Catherine Herle. John's fathers name was John(Johann) Greenwald(Grunwald) m. Rosa Dorn. I know that they ended up homesteading in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan, Canada in 1914. That they got on a ship in England to come over, but ended up going to Brazil for a year before coming to Canada. I know that my great grandfather was in the military. However, I have not found any other relatives of his, and he never talked about his family that my mother could remember.
The names of Johanns children were: John, Adam, Samuel, Elizabeth, Catherine. My grandfather John, named his children Ralph, Anne, Elisabeth, Rose and Dianne. He had a son that died in infancy names Phillip.

As history goes, you can usually track a family through the names they use, and that is what I am doing.

I was hoping that my great grandfather is somehow related to this Phillip Greenwald that you are researching.

Let me know.

Thanks,
Yvette Wingenbach
