Posted by: William Grubb (ID *****6316) Date: August 15, 2008 at 07:04:03
  of 1625

Benjamin Franklin Grubb was orphaned by the civil war. Father was on one side, brother on the other. Mother remarried and Benjamin went to the Ohio Soldiers and Sailors Home, where he lived until 15, at which point he was sent out into the world with a letter describing him as an honest and faithful boy. He met his future wife, daughter of a snake oil salesman, in Utopia Kansas. Later settling in Spokane Washington as a mattress maker. His son, Byron Franklin Grubb, moved to Seattle and worked for American Optical until retirement in Bellingham Washington. His son, (my father) Byron Harold Grubb, served in WW2 Army Air Corps, and taught High School in California until his retirement.
