Just posting information I picked up while documenting my Groves family. Jesse M. Groves b. 1800 Rutherford Co. N.C. married Margaret Long, dtr/of John Long (William) and Isabella Long (Gloud). Children: Nancy C. Groves b.1823 N.C., Andrew Baxter Groves b. 1826 N.C., m. Emily Sharp b. 1838, Tn.(dtr/ofJacob). Their children:James Campbell Groves( after Emily's brother), Ethel Parlie "Pearl", Jennetta. William Q. "Quill" Groves 1828-1910 Tx. James E."Eldon" Groves b.1833 N.C. and Ruth Ballenger (1844-1925) dtr/of Elijah and Nancy Ballenger, Tn. Their Children: John F. Groves (1879-1888), Elijah Wellington Groves b. 1871 m Pearl Augusta Vance) died in Tx. Froney (Saphronia) Groves b. 1875, m James Festus Tinsley , William C Groves b. 1877, Samuel W Groves b.1879, and Tom Groves b.1880. Isabella Jane Groves b. 1833/4, died young. George Washington Groves (1837-1912) m Mary E.(1837-1901). Margaret "Sarah" Groves b. 1841. Daniel Watson Groves b. 1842 N.C. (died during Civil War, ca. 1863) Daniel was named after Margaret Long's brother-in-law. John Long Groves b. ca. 1832 N.C. and Polly. Died in Tx. Their children: Nancy Groves b.1862, William Groves b. 1865, Mary Groves b.1870, and Samuel Groves b.1880. All Tx. Saphronia A."Fronie" (20 Jan, 1845 Tn-1912 Tx.), Never married, Lived with brother Quill. She's identified mistakenly as Fiona on the 1900 Census for Dallas Tx. That's all I have for this bunch.
