Fred G.C. Groth parents

I am trying to trace out branch of the Groth ancestry back to the parents of Fred G.C. Groth. He was born February 20, 1871 in Luttenbrode, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany according to my information. He was the youngest in a family of five. He came to America at the age of 12 as a sister sent for him after the death of his mother. He went back to Germany in 1895 to visit his parents (maybe father and step-mother). He also returned with Emma Endrejat whom he married on March 15, 1895 in Grundy Center, Iowa. I have information that he had a half sister named Katie Benfeldt and she married Fred Von Holt and they farmed at Lake Park, IA or MN. I can't document this. I was also told he had a half brother named Ernest. I do know that he had a sister named Minnie Groth who married Claus Lench. He also had another sister named Lena or Caroline (I've heard both) who married Pete Carstensen. I would appreciate any bit of information if anyone has anything connected to our branch of the family. Thank You!
