Edward Grotte was my grandfather. He died on 2/19/1934 in an industrial accident. His obituary states that he was survived by his wife, Rena, a daughter Grace Catherine (my mother) a son, Edward, three brothers and two sisters:William, Arthur, Joseph, Mrs. Holland Perham and Mrs. Peter Parenteau. He was married to Irene (Rena) Perham. My grandfather's death certificate states that his father was Alexander Grotte born in France and his mother was Catherine Tercier born in Canada.
After my grandfather's death, Rena Perham Grotte married his brother, William F. Grotte.Rena Grotte died on 5/16/1959. My grandmother's obituary states that she had a brother, Holland Perham of Hinsdale, NH.William F. Grotte was born on 12/6/1885 and died on 5/10/1956.William F. Grotte's obituary states that he had two sisters, Mrs. Holland Perham, of New Hampshire and Mrs. Carana Perentau of Connecticut. In addition, he had one brother, Joseph Grotte of Flint, Michigan.Edward Grotte, Rena Perham Grotte Scot, and William F. Grotte are buried in Elmwood Cemetary, Hammond, Indiana.
In thinking about this, I wonder about the names "Annie" and "Carana."
