Hello Neil,
Delighted to hear from you and to learn more about your branch of the family.

I've taken the liberty of adding the information that you gave me about your own particular family to the database.

There are still a couple members of your family in Edinburgh. One is Ronald Grosset, of Geddes & Grosset, who is a book publisher in New Lanark.

Another is Alan George Grosset, a recently retired well-known Edinburgh barrister in Edinburgh.

Still an other is Muriel Craig, a professional genealogist who greatly helped to learn more of our own ancestry.

I'm also in infrequent contact with Lois Saleeba and serve as her unpaid Grosset researcher.

Your family history covers eleven generations; would be pleased to send it to you.

Best Regards,

David

Muriel Craig, a semi-retired genealogy researcher at Register House, in Edinburgh, and a part of your branch, was a great help to me in her research of my own branch of the Grosset family.

I'm fairly certain that the ancestry of both families goes back to Brittany, in France and that they were part of the migration of the Celts from Scythia.

For the sake of simplicity, in my version of Lois's account and of our own history, I ascribe all with the surname Grosset and add the surname variants as 'also known as'.
