Hello Denise: Your gggrandmother, Margaret or Margret GROSSET married James TAYLOR on 28 Jun 1861 at Kilbarchan, Renfrew.
They had a daughter, Janet, born 14 Aug 1861 in Kilbarchan and a son, John, born 11 April 1869 in Abbey parish, Paisley, Renfrew.
I have not been able as yet to find out who her parents were.
I grew up in Scotland, and have family members who live on the east coast of Scotland. Have been researching the family history of Grossets for the past three years.
My father was born in Old Kilpatrick, in Dunbartonshire in 1901, and I also have cousins who live there and in Clydebank, not far from Paisley.
I'll see what I can find out about Margaret GROSSET and pass it on to you.
Vital records before 1855 are sometimes difficult to find. The marriage certificate, which will show her parents names, should be avaiable from Scots Origins. You may want to try that route?

The marriage records should also be available from the Mormon church. They reflect a Batch number of M115681 : Dates 1855-1875: Source Call No. 6035516 REGISTER:
