I have no further info but additional newspaper extracts may be found at URL: <http://www.newspaperabstracts.com/index.php> Vern D ////////////////////////////////// Transcribed by Dee Sardoch; <deesar@frontiernet.net> ////////////////////////////////// Stockton Daily Argus Stockton, San Joaquin Co., CA ********************************** >>Friday, 29 May 1857<< SUDDEN DEATH in a BALL ROOM -- On Tuesday evening last, while in attendance upon an Assembly at Minerva Hall in San Francisco, a young man by name of GROSS, from Yreka, having just concluded a dance, and while handing his partner to a seat, fell from exhaustion into the arms of a friend, and almost immediately expired. Medical aid was quickly summoned but life was extinct. An inquest was held on the following day when it was discovered that death was caused by disease of the heart. Mr. GROSS, who was apparently in perfect health, and a large fine looking man, was a merchant at Yreka and was in San Francisco on business. Notify Administrator about this message?
