Bud - its nice to hear from you. I will do my best to help you. Andrew was my grandfather and passed away in 1989. One of his sons, Andrew George Gross, was my father and passed away in 1984. "Uncle Carl", as my family called him, may or may not still be with us. I have 2 remaining uncles (Paul and Dwight) and two remaining aunts (Bridget and Candace) who can probably help us. Samuel's first wife (mother of Andrew, Carl, Ollie James - who died young - Lizzie, and Elsie Gross) was Candus Gibbs(1886 census St. Clair, OH). I believe she passwed away fairly young. Samuel then married your grandmother, Susie Newton.
I was born in 1968 and have only the vaguest memories of my father's uncles. I remember only Uncle Carl and a man they called Uncle Buck. For all I know, it could have been the one and the same. I recall visiting one of them on a farm in southern Ohio (Dayton to Cinci)around 1975 and Old Uncle Carl/Buck was in fine health. One of them (again, I really don't recall if they were the same person) passed to cancer some years later.

I will ask my aunts and uncles and see what I can find for you.

I have very little on Samuel after Candus. Can you help me fill in those gaps Bud? I would greatly appreciate it. The last I have is the1930 census of St. Clair, Oh.

I have an old picture of Albert Gross - Samuel's father - that I will share with you. Do you have any pictures of Samuel? I have none. I have several of my grandfather, Andrew if you are interested.
