My father, James H. Grose, was born near Covington, VA along the Jackson River in Allegheny county, VA in either 1891 or 1892. I have no written records, only some oral tradition which traced back to a Jacob Grose who farmed in Allegheny County, PA. Jacob's son, Samuel, moved to ALLegheny County, VA to the farm where my father was born.
My father's father was named Samuel. He is buried (along with other Grose ancestor's)in a small churchyard (Mt. Pleasant Methodist) on Falling Springs Road near the homeplace. I would appreciate any information which would substantiate a link with your line.
