Francis Grose of England, c. 1720

I amwriting on behalf of Grose Evans, son of Marshall Blakemore Evans, who is interested in tracing an ancestor, Daniel Grose, author of a work in his care "Antiquities of England and Wales", c. 1758. He was famously fat-- a story is told by Robert Burns that the Devil tried to haul him off his bed, but found him too big to lift! The book in question was one of the first Romantic historical studies. Any info would be of use.
Thanks
