I have Milly Groover, b. 1806 in NC, youngest child of Peter and Susannah Groover. She married Arthur Bowen in 1828, Franklin County, GA. Her son Thomas Price Groover was born in 1826. He had two wives, Serena Townsend (d. circa 1870-71) and Rebecca Covington. They lived in Cherokee County, GA, in 1880. Daughter Adelicia was age six on census. I don't have Lydia Ann. Was Thomas' father a Price?

Where did you get the name Petrus and birth year as 1737, death year as 1809? I believe Peter was born in Germany circa 1760-1762, married Susannah in NC circa 1781-83. He was in some early NC records as Gruber. He died in 1841 in Marietta, GA. He is buried there in Antioch Cemetery with a DAR plaque marking his grave.

If you have documention of the earlier "Petrus" coming to NC, then perhaps he was Peter's father or an uncle. Please share that with us. However, there was another Gruber/Groover family who came earlier than Peter. They settled in Savannah and are not related to him.

Thanks to anyone who can shed light on this Petrus,
