I do not know if my Grooms information may be helpful connection with your Grooms' list. Let me know if it is helpful. I am trying to trace the parents and siblings of Thomas Grooms. Below is my list of Grooms that I am a descendant to. In my note, please do not be confused about the female names who were the daughters of George W. Grooms, and he named them after his sisters.

Rena Jo Arnold

Descendants of Thomas Grooms

Generation No. 1

1. THOMAS GROOMS was born Aft. 1800, and died Unknown in Roane County, Tennessee ?. He married MARY "POLLY" ? Bef. 1823 in Roane County, Tennessee ?. She was born Abt. 1803, and died Unknown in Roane County, Tennessee ?.

Children of THOMAS GROOMS and MARY ? are:

       i. GEORGE W. GROOMS, b. Abt. 1823, Roane County, Tennessee ?; d. Unknown, Jackson County, Arkansas; m. (1) ELIZA JANE HUNTER, 10 Aug 1847, Roane County, Tennessee; b. Unknown; d. Bef. 1869, Jackson County, Ark; m. (2) MARY E. LITTLE, 06 Sep 1869, Jackson County, Arkansas; b. Abt. 1844, Mississippi; d. Unknown; m. (3) MALISSEY NELSON, 04 Feb 1874, Jackson County, Arkansas; b. Abt. 1849.

Notes for ELIZA JANE HUNTER:
The foretold story had been carried on saying that Eliza Jane Hunter Grooms was killed by a tornado. There were other relatives who also were killed in the same incident. Henry Grooms (cousin to George W. Grooms) and his family were probably all killed except only 3 children who survived. According to Arkansas 1870 records, these survived children were living and raised by George W. Grooms, Columbus & Sarah Underwood, and William & Mary Yelverton. These children were Thomas Grooms, George I. Grooms, and Mary Grooms. Also another family of unidentified Means parents and siblings were probably killed in the same incidents, and the three survived children were also living and raised by William & Mary A. Yelverton, and they were Nancy S. Means, George H. Means and John R. Means. They were believed to be buried in Cole Cemetery in Elgin, Ark. because there were many unmarked graves along with Joseph A. Grooms who died and buried in the same cemetery. Need to find the descendants of Joseph A. Grooms to verify the incidents.

ii. ELIZABETH GROOMS, b. Abt. 1828, Roane County, Tennessee; d. Unknown, Roane County, Tennessee ?; m. WILLIAM YELVERTON, 23 Oct 1853, Roane County, Tennessee; b. Unknown; d. Unknown, Roane County, Tennessee ?.

iii. LAURA JANE GROOMS, b. Bef. 1830, Roane County, Tennessee; d. Unknown, Roane County, Tennessee ?; m. WILLIAM MAYFIELD, 12 Apr 1856, Roane County, Tennessee; b. Unknown; d. Unknown, Roane County, Tennessee ?.

iv. SARAH P. GROOMS, b. Aft. 1830, Roane County, Tennessee; d. Unknown, Roane County, Tennessee ?; m. MICHAEL BAKER, 22 Dec 1847, Roane County, Tennessee; b. Unknown; d. Unknown, Roane County, Tennessee ?.

       v. AMANDA GROOMS, b. Abt. 1836, Roane County, Tennessee; d. Unknown; m. LOUIS PENIX, 17 May 1863, Jackson County, Arkansas; b. Abt. 1825.

vi. JANE GROOMS, b. Abt. 1839, Roane County, Tennessee; d. Unknown.
