Janice, have I talked to you before about Solomon and his sister Elizateth? Your Solomon definitely is the son of John Atkins Jr and Ann (INancy) Burras. My Grandmother left me a note saying her mother's mother was Eliz. Groom from Louisa Co. and she had a brother Solomon. You have seen John Atkins Rev war papers. He had two children for sure, and there are those who have more children for them. That part is because of the similarity of the names. All I know is that Elizabeth Atkins married a Groom, probably the family of William and Dorothy (Madison) Groom. - possibly one of Henry's children. I had thought it was Henry, but it doesn't add up. I think Henry because that branch was Louisa. The John from Orange with the Rev record lost his leg and names all his brothers and sisters, but they were not the family we are looking for. Anyway Eliz had a sister Susanne who married Henry Bell and moved to KY. Eliz Groom had Eliz and Solomon. Eliz Groom married Achilles Atkins - Solomon was the best man. Before John Atkins died, he gave Solomon the farm with the stipulation that he, John, lived there as long as he was alive. When he died, Solomon sold the farm and did go to Missouri and your Elizabeth is correct. My Eliz-Achilles Atkins moved to Ross Co., Ohio. Notify Administrator about this message?
