Hi, Peggy. I thought that Floyd Groom's info to you from Rootsweb had helped you lay this to rest. You did know that Solomon Groom's daughter Hannah married a Chaney..? I wondered if you had followed that lead out. I know that the Benjamin Bibb Groom and son Harry Thompson Groom of Clark Co KY and later Lexington were of the Major Groom line out of Caldwell Co KY and previously from Louisa/Orange Co VA. I have not been able to find a link between Solomon and Major. There is an Elijah H Grooms of Lexington also from VA b 1777 that I haven't connected to Major's line either. Apparently, there were several families in that area with same or similar surnames. I'm still digging as well. Good luck. Ann
