I'm posting my Groom family again in hopes of breaking through to find the parents of Cynthia Ann & Spencer Groom.
Her obit:Handwritten obituary of Cynthia Hall done by Willard Rees in my possession:
"At half past 6 o'clock Sunday morning June 20th 1897 Mrs. Cyntha Ann Hall a pioneer mother died at the residence of W. H. Rees her son in law near Butteville where she has made her home since 1869 having reached the advanced age of 92 years 8 months and 18 days. Cyntha Ann Grooms was born in Clark Co Ky, October 2d 1804 where she remained until attaining her 13 year, when her parents removed to Missouri- finally settling near Liberty Clay County where on July 4th 1824 she was married to James E. Hall. They continued that residence in that vicinity until April 1845 when they crossed the plains to Oregon, settling hear Buttevill, in what was then known as Champoeg- now Marion County- "
Family Lore:
Family notes have it that "Our Great Grand Father Grooms lived in Lexington Ken. where he married our Great Grand Mother, whose maiden name is not know, about 1800 or earlier and where their two children were born as follows Spencer Grooms and Cynthia Ann Grooms." Cynthia was b. 1804 Clark Co,KY.
According to family notes, Mrs. Groom remarried to HENRY CHANEY. Mrs. Groom Chaney d. abt 1820 "soon after crossing the border of the state of Missouri...was left by the wayside."
Any help/speculation would be appreciated.
